Just as Dan said the D3VE's are closed chamber heads. The D2's are open chamber and yes those are prone to detonation (the D2's only). D3's are really close-port wise-to the D0VE's but obviously the D3's have bolt-down rockers and bigger chambers. There is no need to go any bigger than 2.2" / 1.8" in a nox application. 2.19" / 1.75" or 1.76" is pretty typical.
