They work good for using the blanket as a cloak and multiple pins work well for joining two blankets together. lately I've been using old style oversized diaper pins (diapers used to be cloth and pinned, not plastic & taped). I find the pins to be easier to stow away and are multiuse, but that's just me possibly.
