The cog railway takes about 3 1/2hrs round trip,with, as the other writer indicates, about 30min on top of the mountain. It is closer to Colorado Springs than the Royal Gorge, and Manitou Springs, where th railway starts, is a nice town. The Garden of the Gods rock formations are nearby.
