If your non-Revit software needs don't preclude having your own server (RISA, Bentley, etc.) then BIM 360/ACC is the better option. It will likely wind up being cheaper for the licenses than to set up and maintain (maybe even hire outside IT) for the server and VPN/RDP set up.
