I wish I knew a solution for you. I've had issues getting surround sound from Nintendo Switch with my C2 connected to a Yamaha receiver. I always had sound though. I was able to get 5.1 sound by plugging the switch dock directly to the receiver rather than the TV. Dunno if that will be helpful in your case when you aren't getting sound at all.
