Totally clean with head room? Not with a 15w tube amp. You need 40 or 50 watts for that. And probably a 100 watt speaker. Low watt tube amps are usually the exact opposite of a pedal platform. The amp does have a really good fx loop and the return is after all eq and gain controls which means its a straight power amp. That might work idk.the 15 watt is louder than the 40 even on the 1.5 watt setting, it takes pedals ( i only use a delay and distortion) well as it has fx send and return. I just bought one of those amps. The Monoprice 15-watt with front-facing knobs. I bought it brand new from Monoprice. It snapped, crackled and popped like crazy. I was able to dial in some good tones. It's plenty loud. But, I couldn't get past all the noise, I talked to Monoprice and they told me to send it back. I brought it to FedEx today.
