Really simple easy test. Remove belt from water pump, fill radiator to tippy top. Start cool engine and rev engine up and down a few times. It could have also gone bad or perhaps it has the wrong pressure rating and is releasing pressure (coolant) at too low of a pressure. The radiator cap should have an 18 lb. pressure rating.
