On several other Hondas the blinking D indicates a failing pressure switch located on the tranny exterior; it directs the tranny to shift at a certain point. Many years ago my 05 Pilot did this and I found directions to ID which switch. Ordered online ($50) and replaced it in my driveway.

If it was intermitent the flashing doesn't come back the failure was intermitent. However this shouldn't lock the gearshift out of the forward gears. I drove it for about 10 miles, D light stopped flashing and Engine light is still on.P1750 Mechanical Problem in Hydraulic Control System of A/T Clutch Pressure Control Solenoid. Codes read after TCS and CEL came on, with flashing green "D" (Drive) Granted the IAC valve is a separate issue apart from the transmission.The flashing D light means an intermitent failure in the transmission. If you get the car scanned, it should have a history dtc stored. Get the car scanned and get the DTC. Also whining noise has a lot to do with worn gears inside the transmission not making proper contact.Everthing seemed to be fine, but now, occasionally, the drive indicator "D" begins flashing while driving. According to the manual, this indicatates a "possible" problem with the transmission. I checked the fluid level and added about 4 oz, but the problem contines. It seems to only happen when the ac is running.

If the flashing D persists that usually indicates the 3rd gear pressure sensor needs to be replaced. Do a 1x tranny fluid drain and fill before that. And use an OEM sensor the first time unless you like doing this job twice.😁.

A few months ago, the D light on our 2007 Pilot EX-L AWD began flashing. The Pilot has 212K on the odometer. We had our local dealer check it and they told us it was the 3rd gear pressure switch, which validated the research I did on the cause.
