Hello Wicked Edge! I (17M) am blessed with tremendously thick, dark, and VERY fast growing facial hair. I would be a huge fan of this, but facial hair does NOT fit with me or my style (picture a stereotypical, fluffy haired, high school teenage boy), and for the last 9 months I have been struggling to keep up with my fight to remain baby-faced. It does NOT mean that Feather blades are "better". Some shavers experience Merkur blades as far superior. Blades are only more or less suitable for an individual shaver in a given razor. Now learn of your experience and try other blades. You MAY have been so lucky as to have found your best blade on the second try. I change blades with each shave however I only shave twice a week so I use about 100 blades/year. For me it's not worth trying to save a few pennies since my favorite blades are under $10/100. Gillette - Perma--Sharp Super Stainless This is the gold and red box, hyphenated "Perma-Sharp". Feather - New Hi-Stainless This one can be harsh but it's manageable in my razor.Razor blades are highly YMMV. Just trust your own experience. I love Rockwell blades, I get a weeks worth of shaves out of them, but everyone is different. I have a tough beard and found the Rockwell blades to not be up to the task. Shave gently- no need to press down hard when shaving 2. It takes a few passes for a clean shave 3. Make sure you do a good job lathering up- good face prep 4. stop and shop pharm The King C Gillette you can pick up at walmart or most drugstores is also an option, it is mild but would make a good starting daily driver. If you do make the transition to DE shaving make sure to pick up a sample pack of multiple brands of blades, you can find them on amazon for very cheap. If you want to dive into the game with a better ... Maggard Safety Razors are cheap and highly recommended for beginners. I strongly recommend this starter kit. The Parker 26C is exceptionally comfortable (disinclined to nick) and efficient, and at $29 is not out of sight. The Maggard razors will also work, as will the Edwin Jagger line, but the 26C, IMO, is better than either.
