Currently I’m using Rudy enb with cathedral weathers and zangdar’s edit. It’s got a nice fantasy touch but not too far from realism. It has great sunsets. I don’t like how it looks during overcast weathers though, and sometimes at sunset I see some weird lines in the sky. I tried NAT enb and it looks like real life. Game changer. Rudy also has an ENB tuned for Obsidian weathers, if that helps. Cathedral uses a number of assets from Obsidian, but they have different looks. You might want to look up a video comparison between weather mods if you’re trying to decide. I’m using that now, just don’t know the difference.
85 votes, 20 comments. true. At this point in my modding of Skyrim SE and LE, as day one owner, it's hard for me to believe there is a better looking ENB on my combination of hardware and mods than Rudy ENB for Cathedral Weathers used with the Window Shadows mod and ELE.
Of course, you need to install "Splashes of Storms" first and use ENB. Settings can be configured in " po3_SplashesOfStorms.toml " (in Data/SKSE/Plugins) and reapplied in-game by using "splashes" console command. Don't make them too small, or anti-aliasing will literally eat them up. You need Cathedral Weathers of course and the Particle Patch. The rest of the mods are just highly recommended, not actually required for the ENB to work. I do recommend you use Obsidian Mountain Fogs and a lighting mod like Window Shadows like Rudy recommends. Also, grass not matching LOD can be fixed with something like xLODGen. Copy "d3d11.dll" and "decompiler_46e.dll" and paste them into your Skyrim root folder. Unzip the cabbage enb. Open the ENB folder and select LUX or ELFX. Open the corresponding folders and copy "enbseries", "enblocal.ini" and "enbseries.ini" to your Skyrim root folder. Press the END key to open the ENB GUI.IMO Cathedral Weathers is the best weather mod for SSE. I use Silent Horizons as for me it's the best looking for CW. Rudy doesn't have a CW version. There are some decent reshades out there, but I still prefer ENB. Another decent option for CW is Lucid ENB, which outperforms Silent Horizons as far as fps is concerned.
The ENB ({Rudy ENB for Cathedral Weathers}) definitely needs some tweaks to night and interior brightness depending on the interior lighting setup you choose, and make sure to back SSAO way down to 0.05 (or eliminate it entirely if you choose), and some weathers still don’t look quite right with our lack of volumetric lighting.
