The "advanced" feature goes off your norms that it establishes from multiple tests.You're supposed to use it once around maybe CD6 to get a baseline for estrogen. Then if you used it a couple days before ovulation, you'd get the blinking smiley because your estrogen was higher than the first time. I'm thinking you skipped the blinking phase because it didn't have a baseline. Which is fine.
