Yeah , for example the Dawnstar chest being moved further beneath the ground. So I guess there's no mod that brings them back up? well im actually happy they fixed this, glitches and bugs that make skyrim easier only ruin how the game should really be played....and in the end, take out all the fun of a true RPG game. just like the oghma infinium glitch, this one is better patched

Go to the entrance of Dawnstar (where you start when you fast travel to Dawnstar) and wait 48 hours. Talk to the traveling Khajiit merchant. The chest should reset. If the merchant isn't there, just wait 2 hours at a time until the tent/camp shows up. Once that happens, the npcs will spawn a few seconds afterward.
Well as part of my new vanilla SE play through, I wanted to experience things I’m just finding out exist. And one of those was the secret chest in Dawnstar. I’ve waiting for the Khajiit caravan to arrive. Talked to the trader. But I go to the assigned spot, and there is no secret chest. No matter what angle or view I try.

The invisible chest in dawnstar is the shop chest for the Khajiit Caravan. You can reset the contents of the chest by waiting for a caravan to come into Dawnstar. If you talk to them and they have a full inventory, you can loot those items from the chest.

If you want to use it, yes. I don't suggest it personally, it's pretty easy to make money in Skyrim. You have a mod that specifically fixes the various chest glitches in the game. So, yes, if you want to use the chest glitches then you need to disable that mod. If you disable the mod now, it could ruin any character that ever existed with that mod. Whether or not you talk to the Khajiit to spawn the chest is irrelevant, because if you're using the Dawnstar chest regularly you will have to talk to the merchant anyways every two days in order to get different stock in the merchant chest >_> Khajiit Merchant is to your right when you fast travel to Dawnstar.
