The Grave Scythe is probably my favorite early-game invasion weapon. As long as you don't R1 twice into a parry shield you're not likely to get parried and since weapon ashes can be swapped out there are a lot of really good psuedo-combos you can pull off. It's also god-tier at roll-catches and punishing multiple phantoms with a quick 180Blood grave scythe +25 with phantom slash is a great combination. Add it with the (forgot it's name) talisman that increases damage with bleed nearby from enemies or yourself, insignia talisman and anything else and you have a beastly combination. I've beaten journey 2 and 3 with this setup.
