The 14R really wants to be and is a great trainer rifle. But the 457 is a woodman's/fieldmans rifle. I agree with this assessment. The B-14R is a tank, and I wouldn't want to lug it around in the woods. There are many models of 457, and most are suited to woods walking, and all are lighter and handier than the B-14R.I have tested Bergara as well, and i have also CZ 457 Long Range Precision. But i must say that i like Bergara more than CZ. Stock is better. Trigger is better. It is more accurate than CZ. And more like a real rifle than rimfire, if that is what you are looking for. Finally got some time to shoot some groups with the CZ457 MTR PT. Velocity Test and group size, everything is factory on the rifle. It definitely liked the SK Rifle Match better than the CCI SV. 100yds, 5 shot groups, 1250 elevation, 78 degrees F, winds 5-8 mph. Attachments.

I know that CZ's shoot lights out and everything I have looked up on the Bergara says they shoot. A lot of chassis makes stopped making chassis for the 455 when the 457 came out. Instead of getting a 457 I got and second B14R, love them, drop a Trigger Tech Diamond and you are set, it comes with a good chassis, but you don't like them.

I have a RimX and a Bergara B14R. My Bergara is the carbon barreled version and it performs fine in the hot Georgia sun. Saying that I would get the steel for balance. The stock is really nice and the accuracy is outstanding. I have two Bergara B14 HMR Wilderness Rifles in 6.5 PRC and 300 PRC . The factory stocks are nice but I have to give the nod to the KRG Bravo if I had to choose between the two stocks. The Bravo stock just fits me a little better. I like the angle of the grip.
