I've had bad gas mileage for a while now combined with ping/knock accelerating uphills, and scanned the ECU and got the p0325 code. Now unless the thermal actuator is stuck then you may have an issue. When the coolant cools the actuator will retreat back in. Then pugged the new one in and mounted it somewhere else. I don't know where it was but I got the suggestion of doing this from the internet.
You will need to get the wiring harness connector from a 99 maxima and use the corresponding knock sensor. The position to locate it to is on the top of the intake manifold, you'll notice there is a pre-threaded hole towards the back left of the intake manifold. This is where you will mount it to. And since the KS has to be relocated, you have to find a place to secure it. The KS is originally attached to a harness. You need to reattach the KS to the harness before securing it someplace else.
