If the ones failing to validate for you are different then this may be a different issue. Here is what worked for us: Navigate to your Helldivers 2 install directory and go to the Tools folder. There should be an install and uninstall for GameGuard in this Tools folder. Run the uninstall. Run the install. This makes it playable somewhat, but not very, and annoys online guests in the game, obviously. Reinstalling .NET Framework v4.0 worked for me. I've tried validating the files through the verify integrity of files option but it keeps saying 1 file failed to validate and will be reacquired. But it keeps saying this everytime I reload Steam app and I've even tried reinstalling the game on Steam.

Every time you validate it the DRM file gets redownloaded and as its proceduraly generated it not matches the checklist. Nofear you can play without problems ;-) #3. You can check yourself by doing the “verify local files” then go to the subsistence folder and in the search area type datemodified: and a calendar will pop you and click todays date. Plenty of files are only needed during install, first launch, are replaced, etc. It’s most likely files like these that Steam detects, but it has no way of knowing what is needed or not so it just downloads everything that comes with the game.
